St. Stephen's College is a religious foundation drawing inspiration from the life and teachings of Jesus Christ. It aims at helping its members realise spiritual and moral as well as intellectual and aesthetic values.

Founded on 1 February 1881, St. Stephen's is the oldest college in Delhi. It was first affliated to Calcutta University, and later to Punjab University. Finally with the establishment of Delhi University in 1922, it became one of its three original constituent colleges.

Biography

Ms. Apoorva Dimri is an Assistant Professor in the Department of English at St. Stephen's College, University of Delhi. She is pursuing her Ph.D. in English from JMI, focusing on literary representations of the lived experiences of marginalization in urban space. She teaches undergraduate courses in Victorian Literature, Romantic Literature, Nineteenth Century European Realism, Twentieth Century Novel, and Women’s Writing. Her research interests include spatial studies, women's writing, literary representations of labor, and modernist literature, with her recent work examining literary representations of the city and the lived experiences of caste in urban space. Ms. Dimri has published several research papers in peer-reviewed journals, along with an upcoming book chapter. She holds an M.Phil in Literature along with a Master’s degree in English Literature from Jawaharlal Nehru University, and a Bachelor’s degree in English Literature from St. Stephen’s College, University of Delhi.
