Educational Visit to the Reserve Bank of India

28 October 2026

The Leadership Cell of St. Stephen’s College organised an educational visit to the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), New Delhi Regional Office, on 28 October 2026. Supported by Principal Prof. Susan Elias, the visit brought together students across disciplines to explore the functioning of India’s central bank.

RBI officials introduced students to the institution’s history, organisational structure and responsibilities, including monetary policy, banking regulation, financial inclusion and currency management. Discussions also covered currency technology, grievance redressal and career opportunities, followed by an engaging exchange with students.

The initiative was coordinated by Ishita Gupta, Udita Gupta, Abhay Verma, Rachel Walter and Rebekah Walter, whose collective efforts ensured its smooth conduct. The College also thanks Dr. Pooja Thakur for accompanying the students. The visit demonstrated the students’ organisational abilities and enthusiasm for connecting classroom learning with institutional practice.

The College extends its sincere gratitude to the Reserve Bank of India and its officials for facilitating this enriching experience. The visit provided a valuable opportunity to connect classroom learning with institutional practice while demonstrating the students’ initiative, organisational abilities and enthusiasm for learning beyond the curriculum.
