Bhoomi Anand Represents India at the Asian Science Camp 2026

St. Stephen’s College congratulates Bhoomi Anand, a student of B.Sc. (Hons.) Physics, on being selected as one of only 16 students representing India at the Asian Science Camp (ASC) 2026, held at the University of Hong Kong from 2 to 8 August 2026.

The prestigious international camp brought together approximately 300 young science enthusiasts from nearly 28 Asian countries and regions, providing them with a platform to learn, exchange ideas and collaborate in a multicultural environment.

During the week-long programme, Bhoomi attended lectures and interactive sessions led by renowned scientists and academics, including Nobel Laureates Sir Andre Geim, recipient of the 2010 Nobel Prize in Physics, and Ferenc Krausz, recipient of the 2023 Nobel Prize in Physics, as well as distinguished neuroscientist Michael Häusser. The programme also featured hands-on scientific and technological activities, including 3D food printing and miniscope designing, encouraging experimentation, creativity and interdisciplinary thinking.

Working alongside students of different nationalities enabled Bhoomi to engage with diverse perspectives and develop a deeper appreciation of international scientific collaboration. The experience broadened her understanding of contemporary research and further strengthened her motivation to pursue a career in science.

The College congratulates Bhoomi on this distinguished achievement and wishes her continued success in her academic and scientific pursuits.
