St. Stephen's College is a religious foundation drawing inspiration from the life and teachings of Jesus Christ. It aims at helping its members realise spiritual and moral as well as intellectual and aesthetic values.

Founded on 1 February 1881, St. Stephen's is the oldest college in Delhi. It was first affliated to Calcutta University, and later to Punjab University. Finally with the establishment of Delhi University in 1922, it became one of its three original constituent colleges.

Adya Singh Wins the NICE 2026 National Championship

St. Stephen’s College congratulates Adya Singh, a student of the B.Sc. Programme with Computer Science (Batch of 2025–2028), on winning the overall national championship title at the Bihar Foundation National Inter-College Crossword Expedition (NICE) 2026.

The national competition comprised four online rounds—N, I, C, and E. Adya secured first place nationally in both the final rounds, Round C and Round E. Her consistently outstanding performance also placed her at the top of the overall national standings, ahead of participants from leading institutions, including IIT Delhi, IIT Madras and IIT Guwahati, earning her the title of NICE 2026 National Champion.

Held under the aegis of the Bihar Foundation, the competition brought together talented crossword enthusiasts from leading colleges, universities, IITs and professional institutions across India.

The College congratulates Adya on this exceptional achievement and wishes her continued success in all her future endeavours.
