Prof. Pankaj Kumar Mishra, a distinguished Sanskrit scholar, teacher, orator, and academician, is recognised for his profound command of the Sanskrit tradition and, equally, for his distinctive interdisciplinary approach that brings the intellectual heritage of India into meaningful dialogue with contemporary modes of knowledge. His academic journey reflects a rare synthesis of traditional scholarship, pedagogical excellence, technological engagement, and a sustained commitment to making Sanskrit knowledge accessible to wider audiences.
With nearly 35 years of professional experience, Prof. Mishra has made significant contributions to the teaching, dissemination, and contemporary interpretation of Sanskrit. His extensive involvement in recording lectures for UGC platforms like Swayam, Gurukul etc. reflects his commitment to creating a strong, systematic, and accessible foundation for Sanskrit learning. His contribution, however, extends far beyond the conventional boundaries of classroom instruction. Through seminars, conferences, academic missions, outreach programmes, and intellectual campaigns, he has consistently worked towards bringing the richness of the Indian knowledge system (IKS) to students, scholars, and the wider intellectual community.

He is distinguished by meticulous preparation, intellectual clarity, engaging presentation, and an exceptional ability to establish meaningful dialogue with his audience. Rather than treating tradition as merely an object of historical study, he presents it as a dynamic intellectual resource capable of responding to contemporary questions of knowledge, language, education, culture, and society. Through initiatives such as his YouTube platform Unfolded Indian Knowledge, he takes discussions on Sanskrit, Indian philosophy, Epigraphy, literature, culture, and the IKS beyond the conventional classroom. 
His academic outreach has also acquired an international dimension. He has represented and presented papers on Indian knowledge traditions, and related areas in international academic forums in countries including the United Kingdom, Canada, Thailand, and Bangladesh. 

Prof. Mishra’s contribution to Sanskrit communication is further distinguished by his role as a primary Sanskrit translator and speaker associated with the dissemination of the Prime Minister’s programme Mann Ki Baat in Sanskrit. This work represents a significant effort to bring contemporary public discourse into Sanskrit and, conversely, to demonstrate Sanskrit’s continuing expressive capacity in addressing modern social, national, and cultural concerns. 
His scholarship is also reflected in his forthcoming works, Vāda-Vidyā: Saṃvāda se Siddhi Tak and Indian Dialectics (Bhāratīya Vāda-Vidyā): A Journey from Doubt to Determination. These works represent his sustained engagement with the Indian traditions of debate, dialogue, reasoning, deliberation, and the pursuit of knowledge. Apart from this, he has published 16 Books, more than 30 research papers in peer-reviewed journals, 25 book chapters.

And his life reflects through his saying- कार्यं वा साधयेयं देहं वा पातयेयम् (Either I shall achieve the objective, or I shall cast down this body).
