St. Stephen's College is a religious foundation drawing inspiration from the life and teachings of Jesus Christ. It aims at helping its members realise spiritual and moral as well as intellectual and aesthetic values.

Founded on 1 February 1881, St. Stephen's is the oldest college in Delhi. It was first affliated to Calcutta University, and later to Punjab University. Finally with the establishment of Delhi University in 1922, it became one of its three original constituent colleges.

Biography

Dr. Geetanjali Sethi is Professor of Physics at St. Stephen's College, University of Delhi, where she has taught undergraduate physics for over two decades. She holds a Ph.D. in Theoretical Cosmology from the University of Delhi and has served the college in various capacities since 2002, including Director of the St. Stephen's Centre for Advanced Learning (2021–2023).
Dr. Sethi has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications and book chapters, delivered invited talks at national and international conferences, and mentors students through various national and international organizations. She was recognized by the Indian Council for UN Relations for Excellence in Academia (2024) and selected for the DST Women in Science leadership training programme at Coventry University, UK. 

Research Interests
Dr. Sethi's research spans radio astronomy and theoretical cosmology, with a focus on Solar Radio Astronomy, Space Weather, and constraining dark energy models using cosmological probes such as CMBR, supernovae, gravitational wave events, and fast radio bursts. She also leads efforts in affordable radio astronomy instrumentation, including horn antenna design and setting up arrays as part of a nationwide interferometer initiative.
