St. Stephen's College is a religious foundation drawing inspiration from the life and teachings of Jesus Christ. It aims at helping its members realise spiritual and moral as well as intellectual and aesthetic values.

Founded on 1 February 1881, St. Stephen's is the oldest college in Delhi. It was first affliated to Calcutta University, and later to Punjab University. Finally with the establishment of Delhi University in 1922, it became one of its three original constituent colleges.

Biography

Dr. Sonia Davar is an Associate Professor in the Department of Mathematics at St. Stephen’s College, University of Delhi, with over three decades of teaching experience. She holds a B.A. (Hons.) in Mathematics from Lady Shri Ram College, an M.A. from Hindu College, where she topped the University, and M.Phil. and Ph.D. degrees from the University of Delhi.

Her teaching and research interests include Calculus, Linear Programming, Mathematical Modelling, Analysis, Optimisation, and Mathematical Programming. She has published research papers in reputed journals on topics including generalised convex functions, cone-connected functions, optimality conditions, and duality. She is also a Life Member of the Operational Research Society of India and has actively participated in academic conferences and research activities.
