Biography

Dr. Shruti Thakur is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Physics at St. Stephen’s College, University of Delhi. She teaches undergraduate courses in Electromagnetism, Mathematical Physics, Nuclear Physics, Electricity and Magnetism, Laboratory Physics, and Computational Physics. She seeks to integrate teaching with computational methods and problem-solving, encouraging students to develop analytical and practical skills alongside a strong conceptual understanding of physics.

Research Interests
Dr. Thakur obtained her Ph.D. in Theoretical Astrophysics from the University of Delhi and specializes in cosmology, dark energy, and modified gravity. Her research focuses on cosmological models of dark energy and modified gravity, with particular emphasis on constraining alternatives to the standard cosmological model using observational data. Her recent work includes perturbation analysis of cosmological models using observational growth data. She has published research in peer-reviewed journals, including Monthly Notices of the Royal Astronomical Society, Physical Review D, and Physics Letters B, and has also contributed to research on Variable Chaplygin Gas and f(R) gravity.
