St. Stephen's College is a religious foundation drawing inspiration from the life and teachings of Jesus Christ. It aims at helping its members realise spiritual and moral as well as intellectual and aesthetic values.

Founded on 1 February 1881, St. Stephen's is the oldest college in Delhi. It was first affliated to Calcutta University, and later to Punjab University. Finally with the establishment of Delhi University in 1922, it became one of its three original constituent colleges.

Biography

Dr. Piyush Bansal is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mathematics at St. Stephen's College, University of Delhi. He obtained a Ph.D. in Mathematics from the University of Delhi and specializes in the area of Harmonic Analysis. His research interests include uncertainty principles on locally compact groups. He teaches undergraduate courses in Integral Transforms, Differential Equations, Numerical Analysis, Algebra, Calculus, Vedic Mathematics, and IT Skills and Data Analysis. Dr. Piyush Bansal has published 6 research papers in SCI/SCIE, Scopus and peer-reviewed journals and has authored many books of school and ungraduate/postgraduate levels. Dr. Bansal has also supervised several students for Research Dissertations/Projects. In addition to his research and teaching, he has held several academic and administrative responsibilities at the College including serving as Staff advisors of different societies and as an IQAC subcommittee member for Research and Innovations. He has also helped organise multiple events and talks.
