St. Stephen's College is a religious foundation drawing inspiration from the life and teachings of Jesus Christ. It aims at helping its members realise spiritual and moral as well as intellectual and aesthetic values.

Founded on 1 February 1881, St. Stephen's is the oldest college in Delhi. It was first affliated to Calcutta University, and later to Punjab University. Finally with the establishment of Delhi University in 1922, it became one of its three original constituent colleges.

Biography

Dr. Mansi George is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Physical Education and Sports Sciences at St. Stephen's College, University of Delhi. She obtained her Ph.D. in Physical Education from the Central University of Haryana, Mahendragarh, and specializes in Physical Education Pedagogy and Weightlifting. She teaches undergraduate courses in Fitness and Wellness, Lifestyle Management through Physical Education, Introduction to Sports Training , Fit India and Sports for Life. Her research interests include School Physical Education, Physical Literacy, Health and Wellness Education, Curriculum Design and Development, Child and Adolescent Health, Inclusive Physical Education, Teacher Education, Educational Assessment,  ,Strength and conditioning and Sports Nutrition with recent work focusing on the Relationship between Screen-time Duration, Health-Related Fitness, and Selected Cognitive Skills in Adolescents.

Dr. George has published 11 research papers in peer-reviewed journals, authored a book on Sports Journalism and a guide to Leadership Training Camps. She continues to pursue research in sports nutrition, strength and conditioning, adolescent health, and evidence-based physical education.
