Biography
Dr. Aastha Madonna Sathe is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mathematics at St. Stephen's College, University of Delhi. She obtained an integrated M.Tech.–Ph.D. (Dual Degree) in Industrial Mathematics and Scientific Computing from Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras and specializes in Computational Statistics and Data Science.
She teaches undergraduate courses in Probability and Statistics, Mathematical Data Science, and Financial Mathematics. Her research interests include stable distributions, statistical inference, computational statistics, financial time series analysis, and machine learning, with recent work focusing on parameter estimation for stable distributions and hybrid machine learning models for time series forecasting.
Dr. Sathe has published seven research papers in peer-reviewed international journals and has presented her research at leading international conferences. She has also supervised research scholars and contributed to the advancement of computational statistics, financial time series modelling, and data-driven forecasting methodologies.
Prior to joining St. Stephen's College, she served as an Assistant Professor at VIT-AP University, worked as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Centre of Excellence in Computational Mathematics and Data Science, IIT Madras, and gained industry experience as a Data Analyst. She continues to pursue research in computational statistics, statistical machine learning, and financial time series forecasting.
