St. Stephen's College is a religious foundation drawing inspiration from the life and teachings of Jesus Christ. It aims at helping its members realise spiritual and moral as well as intellectual and aesthetic values.

Founded on 1 February 1881, St. Stephen's is the oldest college in Delhi. It was first affliated to Calcutta University, and later to Punjab University. Finally with the establishment of Delhi University in 1922, it became one of its three original constituent colleges.

Biography

Dr. A. Stanley Raj is an Assistant Professor of Physics at St. Stephen's College, Delhi, specializing in computational geophysics, astrophysics, astroinformatics, artificial intelligence, and environmental science.. He obtained his Ph.D. Degree from Manonmaniam Sundaranar University, Tirunelveli, Tamil Nadu. He has 57 national and international research publications along with books, book chapters, patents, and guided two Ph.D. research scholars as of 2026. He is a member of several national and international professional and scientific societies, including the Indian Meteorological Society, International Association of Hydrological Sciences, India–UK Water Centre, South Asian Meteorological Association, Indian society for Artificial Intelligence and Robotics, India and International Society for Agro-meteorology. His interdisciplinary research integrates AI, computational modelling, groundwater, climate science, astrophysics, gravitational-wave analysis, microplastics, and graphene-based water filtration to address emerging scientific and environmental challenges.
