Celebrating Years of Service: A Fond Farewell to Mr. Kishori, Mr. Vijay and Mr. Lal Babu
St. Stephen’s College bids a warm farewell to Mr. Kishori, Mr. Vijay, and Mr. Lal Babu as they retire. We celebrate their contributions and the kindness, sincerity, and dedication with which they have served generations of students and colleagues.
Mr. Kishori, affectionately known as Kishori ji, retires after forty years of service in the Accounts Department. Whether helping students with fee-related queries, guiding them through paperwork or patiently explaining administrative procedures, he made approaching the office a comfortable experience. His cheerful manner and youthful enthusiasm have endeared him to the College community. He often credited the company of students for keeping him young at heart—a sentiment reflected in his everyday interactions.
Mr. Vijay, fondly known as Vijay Bhaiya, has been a cherished presence in the Junior Common Room (JCR). He approached his responsibilities with enthusiasm and took immense pride in his work. Over the years, his dependability and affable nature earned him the trust and affection of successive Principals, colleagues and students. His personal commitment to the College extended beyond his daily duties through the relationships he nurtured.
Mr. Lal Babu concludes forty-two years of service in the College Mess, where his care for students found expression in countless small gestures. Checking that everyone had eaten, attending to individual requests and offering an extra helping of sweets with a smile, he helped make the Mess a welcoming space. For generations of residents, memories of College life will include his familiar and reassuring presence.
As they begin this new chapter, we thank all three for the care they brought to their work and to the people around them. Their contributions will remain a cherished part of the College’s story.
St. Stephen’s College wishes them good health, happiness and a fulfilling retirement.
