Alumnus Herbert G. Lyngdoh Awarded President’s Police Medal for Meritorious Service
The Alumni Office, St. Stephen’s College, is delighted to congratulate Mr. Herbert G. Lyngdoh, IPS (Class of 1998), on being conferred the prestigious President’s Police Medal for Meritorious Service.
An esteemed officer of the Indian Police Service belonging to the Meghalaya cadre, Mr. Lyngdoh has dedicated over two decades to public service, law enforcement, and internal security across the state.
Throughout his distinguished career, he has served in critical operational, investigative, and administrative assignments, playing a pivotal role in maintaining public order, strengthening community-oriented policing, and spearheading key crime prevention and counter-insurgency initiatives with integrity and resolve.
His career is marked by exemplary leadership, strategic acumen, and an enduring commitment to public welfare and institutional excellence. Widely recognised for his professional discipline and people-centric approach to policing, his contributions have left an indelible impact on the safety, security, and governance of Meghalaya.
The President’s Police Medal for Meritorious Service is one of the nation’s prestigious policing honours, awarded in recognition of sustained dedication, exemplary service, and exceptional devotion to duty.
