St. Stephen's College is a religious foundation drawing inspiration from the life and teachings of Jesus Christ. It aims at helping its members realise spiritual and moral as well as intellectual and aesthetic values.

Founded on 1 February 1881, St. Stephen's is the oldest college in Delhi. It was first affliated to Calcutta University, and later to Punjab University. Finally with the establishment of Delhi University in 1922, it became one of its three original constituent colleges.

In Loving Memory of Anindita Bagchi (Andy)
Batch of 1995–98, B.Sc. (Hons.) Chemistry

St. Stephen's College fondly remembers Anindita Bagchi (Andy), a beloved alumna of the B.Sc. (Hons.) Chemistry Batch of 1995–98, whose untimely passing on 18 June 2026 has deeply saddened the Stephen's community.

Andy is remembered with affection for her warmth, kindness, and enduring bond with her classmates and the College. Her life touched many, and her memory continues to inspire all who knew her.

The College joins her family, friends, classmates, and loved ones in remembering her with gratitude and prayer.

A Memorial Service will be held at the College Chapel on Sunday, 19 July 2026, at 5:00 PM. Members of the St. Stephen's community, alumni, faculty, students, staff, and friends are welcome to attend and pay their respects.

May her soul rest in eternal peace.
