St. Stephen's College is a religious foundation drawing inspiration from the life and teachings of Jesus Christ. It aims at helping its members realise spiritual and moral as well as intellectual and aesthetic values.

Founded on 1 February 1881, St. Stephen's is the oldest college in Delhi. It was first affliated to Calcutta University, and later to Punjab University. Finally with the establishment of Delhi University in 1922, it became one of its three original constituent colleges.

Stephanian Alumna Dr. Mallika Singh Contributes to Breakthrough in Pancreatic Cancer Treatment

St. Stephen’s College is proud to celebrate the contribution of its distinguished alumna, Dr. Mallika Singh (B.Sc. (Hons.) Chemistry, Batch of 1987–90), to a landmark advancement in cancer treatment.

Dr. Singh is a senior biopharmaceutical leader and translational researcher in the United States, widely recognised for her pioneering work on oncogenic RAS and KRAS-mutant cancers. She currently serves as Senior Vice President of Translational Research and Head of Program, Lifecycle and Portfolio Strategy at Revolution Medicines, based in the San Francisco Bay Area, California.

Dr. Singh is a key member of the Revolution Medicines team involved in the development of daraxonrasib, marketed as Rasonque. On 26 August 2026, the drug received approval from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration for the treatment of eligible adults with metastatic pancreatic adenocarcinoma. It is the first approved broad RAS-targeted medicine for metastatic pancreatic cancer and represents a significant advancement in the treatment of a disease that has historically been extremely difficult to address.

The approval has received international attention, with reports highlighting the drug’s potential to improve survival among patients with advanced pancreatic cancer. This milestone reflects years of sustained scientific research, clinical development, and collaboration.
