Inter College Shooting Competition

The women marksmen did the college proud as they won the Second Best Team in the overall championship at the Inter College Shooting Competition organized by the Delhi University, at the Hansraj College’s Indoor Shooting Range.

Shriyanka Sadangi continued her winning spree by bagging an Individual Gold Medal in the 10M Air Rifle event.

Niyati and Aditi stood fourth and fifth respectively in the Air Rifle Women’s event. Apart from them, Anushtha and Kaamaakshi also participated in the same event.

Anu Tomar, Manavika and Adya represented the college in the Air Pistol Women’s event.

All India Inter University Shooting Competition

At the All India Inter University Shooting Competition 2016 held at Banaras, Shriyanka Sadangi and Niyati were a part of the team of the Delhi University. Shriyanka Sadangi anchored the Delhi University team to the Overall Team Gold medal in the 10M Air Rifle Women’s event. However, while being among the top four shooters who were tied at 397/400, Shriyanka’s luck slid her to the fourth position in the overall tally for the same.

Niyati Khanna participated in the same event.

State Level Competitions:

At the State Competitions Anushtha and Manavika participated in their respective States Shooting Competitions.

At the 31st Delhi State Shooting Championship 2015-Aditi Singh of  II History won GOLD in 3 Position Senior and bagged a second GOLD in 3 Position Junior. Aditi went on to win another GOLD in the Prone Senior and a GOLD in Prone Junior. Aditi also won a SILVER in 10m Senior Category and added a second SILVER  to her kitty in the 10m Junior Category.

Zone Level (North zone Including- J&K, Haryana, Punjab, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan)

Aditi Singh took part in the 35th North zone Shooting Championship- 2015,New Delhi – Won 5 GOLDS Medals, 1 SILVER Medal and 3 BRONZE medals across Senior and Junior Women Rifle Events

National Championships:

In the 59th National Shooting Competition Championships held in Delhi in December 2015, the following shooters from the college took part in the 10M Air Rifle Event:

Among the Air Pistol women shooters  Manavika Kumari participated in the National.

Anushtha bagged a team gold in the senior civilian category and a bronze in the senior open category.

Aditi Singh continued to hit the mark with multiple winnings at the event. They are as given below:

BRONZE in Prone Junior Civ

In the Kumar Surendra Singh Shooting Championship, held in Kerala in Feb 2016,  Shriyanka Sadangi M.A (Previous) History did the college proud as she bagged a commendable Individual silver in the 10M Air Rifle Women event.

Aditi Singh – II History (H), Anushtha – II Physics (H), and Niyati Khanna – I English (H) participated in the same event.

INTERNATIONAL PARTICIPATION

SHRIYANKA SADANGI

The college takes immense pride to learn that Shriyanka Sadangi has been selected as part of the Indian squad for Asian Olympic Quota Qualifying Shooting Competition to be held in New Delhi and undergoing training under the National Rifle Association of India.

Shriyanka has won fifteen international medals for the country till date.

Other International Achievements that have come Shriyanka’s way this academic year are:

1) Intershoot Shooting Competition, Netherlands, 2016 – 2 SILVER(ind.)

and 1 BRONZE(ind.)

2) 15th Asian Shooting Championship, Kuwait, 2015 – SILVER (team).

4) Asian Airgun Shooting Championship, New Delhi, 2015 – SILVER (indi.)

5) Super Cup Event of the 2nd ISSF Junior Cup, Germany, 2015 – Bronze

INTERNATIONAL PARTICIPATION

ADITI SINGH

  1. Selected as the Indian shooting team member- 3rd time this year. Member of :

50m 3 Position Junior Indian Team,

50m Prone Junior Indian Team and

10m air rifle Junior Indian Team. (2014,2015,2016- Consecutively)

  1. Selected for the Abhinav Bindra’s Shooting Development Programme 2015 and granted the GoSports Foundation Scholarship.
  2. Ranked 4th in the final list of selection for ISSF in Junior World Cup, Suhl 2015 in 50mtr Prone event.
  3. Ranked 4th in the final list of selection for ISSF for Asian Air Gun and Asian Shooting Championship 2015.
  1. Participated in the 28th Summer Universiade- WorldUniversity Games from July 3-14, 2015 at Gwangju, Republic of Korea. Took part in 2 events- 50mtr Prone and 50mtr Three Position Women and qualified through the elimination stage into the final stage in both. In the prone event shot an impressive score of 619.5, which was only 2 points away from the medal. Ranked 11th amongst 150 shooters from across the world.
  1. Participated in the 39th Intershoot Shooting Competition at The Hague, Netherlands 2016 held from 2-6th February,2016 and was ranked 11th in Junior Women Air Rifle event.

Inter College Shooting Competition

In the Inter College Shooting Competition organized by the Delhi University, at Hansraj College, in October 2015, Jascharan S Narula bagged an individual silver in the 10M Air Pistol event.

Vishal Singh and Saurabh participated in the Air Rifle Men’s  event in the competition.

At the All India Inter University Shooting Competition 2016 held at Banaras, Jascharan Narula was a member of the Delhi University team that bagged a team silver medal (All India Level) in the Air Pistol Men’s event.

State Championships

Saurabh III History (H), took part in the 38th U.P State Shooting Championship held at New Delhi (50m Prone event) and won gold medal in senior category.

National Championships

Saurabh III History (H) and Vishal Singh III History (H) took part in the 59 National Shooting Championship held at New Delhi (10m Air Rifle) in senior category.

In the Kumar Surendra Singh Shooting Championship, Jascharan Singh Narula of II Economics (H) participated in the Air Pistol Men’s event.

The self-motivated and ceaseless activities of over two dozen clubs and societies constitute a very important part of College life and offer a large variety of avenues for self expression. For each subject there is a Society that sponsors extra-curricular lectures and discussion and, in general, tries to stimulate interest in the subject. There are many other academic and cultural society and clubs covering wide range of activities, such as debating, dramatics, mountaineering, film and music appreciation, social service, photography and electronics.
