Candidates applying on the basis of Sports

Eligibility

The following are eligible to apply on the basis of games and sports:

(i) Those who have played at the State, National or International level
(ii) Those who have represented their school at least at the Zonal level and have secured the first or second position (Winner or Runner-up)
 

Application Procedure

(i) You MUST apply for admission to an academic course of study. Fill in the main application form(s) for your chosen course(s) of study. Sports candidates are advised to apply for admission to as many courses as they wish to be considered for. A CANDIDATE WILL NOT LATER BE CONSIDERED FOR A COURSE FOR WHICH HE OR SHE DID NOT APPLY INITIALLY.
(ii) In addition to the main Admissions Form, also fill in the Sports Form. A separate Sports Form must be submitted for each game.
(iii) Attach photocopies of all your certificates, newspaper cuttings, testimonials, etc. to the Sports Form. In particular, copies of certificates which confirm eligibility (as noted above) must be attached. Originals will be checked at the time of the selection trials: do not attach originals at this stage.
(iv)  Deposit at the Admissions Office:
  (a) The Course Application Form with a photocopy of the Sports Form without sports certificates.
  (b) The Sports Form in original, with copies of sports certificates.

Selection Trials :

(i) Sportspersons who fulfill the eligibility requirements have to come for selection trials. Trials will be held in June according to a schedule that will be displayed on the Games Notice Board and the College Web Site.
The College reserves the right to change the date, time and venue of trials. Candidates are advised to check the notice board and college website for the trials schedule.
(ii) Candidates must report for trials on the specified date, at the appointed place and time in proper kit with their own sporting equipment, with one passport size photograph for each trial.
(iii) Trials will be conducted for the following games:
Men and Women
: Basketball, Lawn Tennis, Badminton, Table Tennis, Aquatics, Shooting.
Men only: Cricket and Squash Racquets.
 

Interviews :

(i) Candidates short listed on the basis of trials will have to appear for the academic (course / subject) interview. The date and time of this interview will be put on the Games Notice Board and the College Website after the trials. Final decision regarding admission will be taken after this interview.
 

The College reserves the right to change the date, time and venue of trials. Candidates are advised to check the notice board and college website for the trials schedule.
