Sanskrit Sahitya Sabha

SANSKRIT SAHITYA SABHA

India is a country where science meets spirituality. The origin of its rich culture and civilisation entails the legacy of literature and language.Sanskrit being one of the most ancient and finest languages of human history  is not just cultivated in our very roots till date, its relevance as a discipline has developed with time.Celebrating this heritage, The Sanskrit Sahitya Sabha (the departmental society of the Department of Sanskrit) of St. Stephen’s College, is one of the oldest functioning societies in the college campus with a legacy of more than 65 years. Since then it has been strengthening the core value system of our culture with an inherent mix of contemporary modernism.

The society strongly believes that through helping each other, success can be achieved together. It promotes a dynamic approach towards the field of Sanskrit with regard to its inter-disciplinary purviews such as leadership, science, history and other fields of social sciences. The Sabha also aims at providing academic and extra-curricular exposure to the students of the Department through numerous events such as its annual Kalidas Jayanti Samaroha, frequent seminars, literary quizzes and other competitions.  Hence the Sanskrit Sahitya Sabha works as an ideal sphere of academic and insightful discourse related to Indian studies.
