January 2021

About The Course

This intensive programme focuses on two aspects – Public Policy and International Relations. The study of Public Policy focuses on the analysis, explanation and extensive deliberation of Government and Non-Government response to public problems.   The Public Policy module will look at the interaction between institutions, organizations and the public within various governance structures that result in calibrated discourses between various stakeholders resulting in the formulation of policies.

The Public Policy element will introduce the theory and relevance of policy making, implementation and management. The programme, spread over six weekends, will facilitate a larger understanding of the way a nation is governed and will methodically address the need of governance. The aim of the programme will be to answer the challenging questions on bureaucracy, its existence and functioning in addition to the knowledge of how administration and governance structure affects the actions of Governments. This course will holistically incorporate the basics of Public Policy with the resource persons bringing with them a wealth of knowledge and experience pertaining to Policy Formulation, Development and Implementation at the Central, State and grassroot levels.

The International Relations module would delve into the present condition of International Relations with a special focus on Asia. Eminent and seasoned professionals in the field, including current and former ambassadors will help participants understand the importance of Diplomacy in bridging the yawning gulfs between nations. The course encapsulates a broad range of issues within International Relations extending from India’s emerging security challenges in the neighbourhood, India-China relations, India- Pakistan and understanding India’s foreign policy.
