About The Course
This intensive programme focuses on two aspects – Public Policy and International Relations. The study of Public Policy focuses on the analysis, explanation and extensive deliberation of Government and Non-Government response to public problems. The Public Policy module will look at the interaction between institutions, organizations and the public within various governance structures that result in calibrated discourses between various stakeholders resulting in the formulation of policies.
The Public Policy element will introduce the theory and relevance of policy making, implementation and management. The programme, spread over six weekends, will facilitate a larger understanding of the way a nation is governed and will methodically address the need of governance. The aim of the programme will be to answer the challenging questions on bureaucracy, its existence and functioning in addition to the knowledge of how administration and governance structure affects the actions of Governments. This course will holistically incorporate the basics of Public Policy with the resource persons bringing with them a wealth of knowledge and experience pertaining to Policy Formulation, Development and Implementation at the Central, State and grassroot levels.
The International Relations module would delve into the present condition of International Relations with a special focus on Asia. Eminent and seasoned professionals in the field, including current and former ambassadors will help participants understand the importance of Diplomacy in bridging the yawning gulfs between nations. The course encapsulates a broad range of issues within International Relations extending from India’s emerging security challenges in the neighbourhood, India-China relations, India- Pakistan and understanding India’s foreign policy.
The uniqueness of this programme stems from its unrivalled resource persons and facilitators, the majority of whom are Civil Servants and industry experts who have contributed to policy formulation, institution and nation building and dealt with foreign relations having served remarkably and achieving excellence in most challenging environments. Through their lectures and by interacting with them we hope participants will reap a rich harvest of knowledge and experience to enrich their own professional careers.
Entry Requirements
Undergraduate/Postgraduate/working professionals are welcome. There is no restriction on the academic discipline the applicant comes from.
Students admitted to the programme would normally have some relevant work experience. However, applicants with little working experience, an internship, for example, are also welcome to apply.
Assessing Your Application
Your application will be considered looking at your overall academic merit, your interest in the course and your overall work experience.
Program Structure
This is an online program being offered by St. Stephen’s College, Delhi through the St. Stephen’s Centre for Advanced Learning. Each session will comprise a 90 minutes lecture followed by an interactive session.
Assessment
The course assessment will be based on course participation, interaction and a 4000-5000 word-long assignment.
On successful completion of the course, the student will be presented with a Certificate from the St. Stephen’s Centre for Advanced Learning.
Fees
A highly subsidised course frees of INR 10,000/- inclusive all of tax and costs.
Fees once paid are non-refundable.
Application Process:
Shortlisted candidates will be invited for an online interview and the selected candidates will be sent an offer letter.
