NOTICE

St Stephen’s College had applied for autonomy in 2017 under the offer made by the UGC through the University of Delhi. The proposal is still under process.

As part of the proposal, several Centres of study were proposed. One such Centre was the Centre for the Study of Religion. As per the proposal, all existing departments will continue to function, including the department of Philosophy – one of the oldest departments to be established in College.

There was and is no proposal to start a department of Theology in College.
