The Financial and Investment Cell – St. Stephen's College, Delhi

THE FINANCE AND INVESTMENT CELL

The Finance & Investment Cell was instituted back in 2007, with the objective of instilling a sense of financial keenness amongst the student community. The Cell has grown by leaps and bounds and has emerged as one of the most active and popular societies in the DU circuit.

Being backed by sponsors such as Blue Dart, Coca-Cola, American Express and other well-known brands in the past, the society serves as a great platform for students to indulge in quality learning whilst having fun!

From having the honour of hosting stalwarts from the world of business and finance like Dr. Kaushik Basu(former chief Economist, World Bank), Dr. Usher Ahluwalia(chairperson, Board of Governors, ICRIER) and being pioneers in creating financial awareness amongst the less privileged, to conducting national level case study competitions and National Finance Festivals, the society sees active participation of over 5000+ students from various colleges from across the country.

1	Interaction with Ms. Urmi Samadar, Assisstant Dean, MIT Sloan School of Management	Workshop	College	A session conducted by Ms. Urmi Samadar, Assisstant Deam of MIT's Sloan School of Management about their prestegious M.Fin Program, helping young aspirants who wish to enter into the world of finance with knowledge that is necessary to apply to MIT's M.Fin Program. 2	Case Club League	Competition	National	Case Club League is one the biggest case study competitions in India. The competition differs from other competitions because of the interactive aspect of the competition. Over the several rounds of the competition, the participants are given dynamic business case studies, solving of which has to be done in the stipulated time. In the Finals, participants were required to solve the cases and present their solutions in front of a panel of judges. 3	Finatic	Competition	National	Finatic 2022 is a standalone quizzing event organized by the Finatic vertical every year. The quiz has two rounds with questions on topics ranging from finance to business and economics trivia. It was held on campus in 2022 for all undergraduate, graduate and school students across the country.	Prelims: Tuesday, 1st November 2022 Finals: Friday, 4th November 2022
4	Society Orientation	Orientation	College	The Finance and Investment Cell's society orientation was held in induct the incoming batch of First-Year Junior Member of St. Stephen's College into the society through an interactive sessionintroducing the past events held by the Finance and Investment Cell. 5	Financial Knights	Competition	National	Financial Knights is an event which gathers students from all around India to participate in a. Excel-based simulation of stock market. Participants were asked to invest in various company stocks based on news and rumours to make the most profit from the dynamically changing values of the stocks. 6	Das Capital	Competition	National	Das Capital is the annual finance festival of the society spread over three days with a diverse range of events. The events hosted during Das Capital 2023 were as follows: 1. Corporate Wars (A Dynamic Case Study Competition) 2. Finatic (A Cryptic Business & Finance Quiz) 3. Investrix (Financial Market Simulation) 4. Financial Summit (Business Simulation Competition) 5. Talks (Lectures by 2 eminent personalities: Prof KV Subramanian, India's Executive Director at the IMF and the 17th CEA to the GoI, and Bipin Kaul, Chief Business Officer, Offline Payments at Paytm)	Prelims: Held for various events during last week of January and first week of February Final Events: To be held offline in the campus on 6-8th February 2023
