ATTENTION TO ALL JUNIOR MEMBERS

The course offered by Mr. Sanjeev Bikhchandani and an illustrious team of entrepreneurs took shape in the course of a brainstorming session in my office as we addressed the emerging trends in the domain of higher education in general and in College life in particular. I am quite certain the Junior Members who enroll for this course will find it absolutely worthwhile, both on account of the manifest usefulness of the course contents and the dream team that administers it with Sanjeev and Jaipal as the coordinators of the Course.

At this stage we have to limit admissions to this course to 50. This could be revised later on, but not earlier than the beginning of the next session. While in principle the course will be open to students from other colleges of the University, Stephanians will be admitted preferentially. I encourage the Junior Members to take advantage of this great opportunity.

A cricket aficionado to the core, he dropped his Class XII Board exams to get that one extra year of playing for his under-17 cricket team! He graduated from St. Stephen’s College, New Delhi, with top marks and went on to study at the prestigious Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore. Years of experience in mentoring and interacting with bright young minds from all over the country lent him a keen insight into nuances of education & training.  After taking over the test prep market, Satya found that CL’s philosophies of education and learning required a more holistic and structured platform that could best be achieved through mainstream education. CL’s foray into mainstream education came with its chain of K-12 schools, the Indus World Schools. Its philosophies such as ‘child centric learning' and 'multiple intelligence' are implemented in its curriculum and day-to-day activities. Career Launcher also started its B-School, the Indus World School of Business and Vocational Training initiative recently. Today, while leading one of South Asia’s leading education service provider, Satya is also a certified Crestcom and NTL trainer who has trained corporate bigwigs in leadership and management skills; besides thousands of students, teachers and corporate executives. Occasionally, he also trains the Delhi state cricket team in the area of “mental preparation”. Satya’s entrepreneurial zeal and his conviction in his dreams were recently acknowledged by Dell’s when he was featured in their ‘Take Your Own Path’ Campaign.  More recognition and accolades have constantly poured in, in the form of various national and international awards like the Karmaveer Puraskaar ‘09 presented by iCONGO  and the Most Promising Entrepreneur Award presented by Asia Pacific Entrepreneurship Awards ’09. Satya is deeply passionate about physical fitness and when he is not working, he can’t stay away from the tennis court and yoga. He feels this reenergizes him physically, emotionally, and mentally. His other passions include music and poetry. Currently, Career Launcher enables people achieve their career dreams in more than 250 locations across the India and Dubai.  Instructor Profile

Jaipal Anand

Jaipal specialises in designing and facilitating ‘developmental’ programmes. These programmes provide a diverse, essential range of practical, intellectual and experiential inputs — as skills or behaviours — that act as catalyse for the growth of individuals to flourish, bud, and bloom and for institutions to succeed in their quest for excellence. Each programme is designed keeping in mind requirements that allow leaders, managers and teams to become ‘successful’ through astutely managed processes of communication, change, and creative conflict. He also designs programmes which accelerate essential and prime personal changes in behaviour and attitude to create ‘personal brands’ for individual clients. The programmes are conducted in an ambience of trust, humour, and bonhomie. He uses current empirical evidence interspersed with futuristic ideation, movies based on real life incidents, biographical anecdotal evidence, psychometric and other exercises extensively as these lead to the embedding of— and a practical application of learning. He creates his programmes from knowledge acquired from the works of management ‘gurus’ of the ‘90s and the ‘00s and the thinking of others like Bacon, Doyle, Descartes, Handy, Ghosal, Kantor and Peters — amongst other contemporary thinkers. His voracious reading, research and discussion with peers allows him to keep himself updated on the current research in management and HR. He has 16 years of corporate experience encompassing HR and managerial stints in the advertising, banking, travel, BPO, and construction sectors. His last corporate assignment was as Global VP (Learning and Development) for a Fortune 1000 company. Ha has won awards in the fields of HR and OD at both, the national and international level, and honourable mentions from the UN, and Central and State Governments. He has had the experience of being educated in five countries, and has a Bachelors’ and Masters’ degrees in History from one of India’s best colleges - St. Stephen’s College - and an MBA degree from the UK. He also spent three years as a cadet at the National Defence Academy from where he gained a rare insight into how leaders manage their teams, and strategise to win. Apart from facilitating a transfer of knowledge, he owns India’s only magazine on training and development (Training & Management) and has written over 80 articles on training. My first book on management will be published later this year.
