5th April, 2021

  1. On the basis of site visits, Covid tests done and test results received, the SDM, Civil Lines has notified Mukherji East, Extension Block and the Sports Complex for strict perimeter control and necessary procedures for containment of Covid-19.
  2. In light of the above these two blocks will now be Out of Bounds for all with effect from 05.04.2021 and until further notice.
  3. Other areas of the College campus will be open for routine and normal work w e f 06.04.2021 following all Covid safety measures and faculty and staff may return to normal duties as per routine.
  4. The Dean’s Office will continue to monitor and administer the medical care and other necessary requirements for those under containment.
  5. All members on the campus and using the campus are advised to follow strict Covid safety measures including use of masks, social distancing and sanitation procedures where required.

COVID Situation – Update 1

 

4th April, 2021

  • To ensure safety and protection for our students and College, campus community, the College in association with SDM’s office (North), the CDMO and with the Police informed, conducted a Covid test for all resident students, housekeeping and mess staff on Saturday 3rd April. The results were received a few hours ago today (4th April) and all are Covid negative.
  • The 13 students who tested positive continue to be in quarantine, in separate buildings. They continue to be under medical observation.
  • The inner perimeter of the College campus will continue to be out of bounds for all until further notice. Staff and faculty need not come to the College on Monday 5th April. Classes will continue to be online.
  • Emergency services – Estate Office, Security and Mess will report for work as per Roster. The Principal’s, Bursar’s and Dean’s offices will function as usual.

ATTENTION Junior Members, Faculty and Staff
COVID-19 Precaution

 

Thirteen resident students have tested positive for Covid this morning. The following measures will come into effect immediately and till further notice to ensure safety for all concerned.

  1. The Dean’s Office has already put in place necessary and stringent measures to ensure isolation and social distancing for all residents with the usual Covid protocols.
  2. The inner perimeter of the College is out of bounds for all, unless specific clearance is given by the Principal on a case by case basis.
  3. The outer perimeter of the College may be accessed by those with relevant and regular work after due process at the Security counter.
  4. Faculty who are scheduled to come to College may defer their coming till a notification informs them of an improvement in the situation.
  5. There is no reason for panic and please await further information on the situation which will be available here.

The self-motivated and ceaseless activities of over two dozen clubs and societies constitute a very important part of College life and offer a large variety of avenues for self expression. For each subject there is a Society that sponsors extra-curricular lectures and discussion and, in general, tries to stimulate interest in the subject. There are many other academic and cultural society and clubs covering wide range of activities, such as debating, dramatics, mountaineering, film and music appreciation, social service, photography and electronics.
