CERTIFICATE COURSE ON PUBLIC POLICY
AND INTERNATIONAL RELATIONS


This one of a kind executive-level programme in Public Policy and International Relations is an independent undertaking by St. Stephen’s College, Delhi to complement one of its newly incorporated centres – St. Stephen’s Centre for Advanced Learning (SCAL). This programme will essentially focus on imparting knowledge, skills, and abilities to excel in the field of Policy Implementation, Foreign Relations, and Diplomacy, and will take an experiential and problem-driven approach.

Eligibility Criteria:

The Certificate course is open to entry-level to mid-senior level professionals; candidates from all disciplines and backgrounds are welcome to apply. Selection to the course will depend on successful completion of the application process. Recent graduates can also apply.

Application Process:

The application will be fully online and the portal will open on Wednesday, November 13th, 2019.

Online Application– Complete and submit the online application form available on www.ststephens.edu/scal by Wednesday, December 25th, 2019, 23:59 hours.

Statement of Purpose – Applicants will be required to upload a Statement of Purpose showcasing their interest and motivation to pursue the course in not more than 1200 words.

Applicants are also required to upload their CV, photograph and signature in the required format.

A Registration fee of INR 500 will be charged at the time of submitting the online application.

Interviews – Shortlisted candidates will be invited for an interview.

Results – The final selections will be notified within 7 days of the final interview day.

Programme Structure:

This is a 6-week executive level programme with 4-hour weekend classes and coursework beginning from Saturday, January 11th, 2020. The schedule for the classes will be Saturdays and Sundays from 2 pm to 6 pm, which will also include a short break.

Each week would comprise of 2 to 3 lectures along with mandatory coursework and workshops.

Evaluation would include coursework gradation, peer-reviews, and seminar participation.

  • Public Policy Development, Management, and Leadership
  • Public Financing and Budgeting
  • Administration and E-Governance
  • Law and Public Policy

International Relations Module

  • International Relations: A South Asian Perspective
  • International Foreign Policy
  • International Security
  • Diplomacy
  • Conflicts Negotiation Exercise

Faculty:

The uniqueness of this programme stems from its faculty and facilitators. Through a variety of mediums including personal/ physical as well as virtual sessions, it will essentially be the industry-expert and stalwart Stephanians conducting this executive course.

Programme Fees:

The course fee for the complete 6-week programme is INR 30,000 plus taxes. Upon successful completion of the course, the student will be presented with a certificate from St. Stephen’s Centre for Advanced Learning.

The time period to deposit the fee: Within 3 days of the notification of admission, failing which admission will stand cancelled.

Fee once paid in non-refundable under any circumstances.

The self-motivated and ceaseless activities of over two dozen clubs and societies constitute a very important part of College life and offer a large variety of avenues for self expression. For each subject there is a Society that sponsors extra-curricular lectures and discussion and, in general, tries to stimulate interest in the subject. There are many other academic and cultural society and clubs covering wide range of activities, such as debating, dramatics, mountaineering, film and music appreciation, social service, photography and electronics.
