Harmony 2008
DAY 1
The annual St. Stephen’s festival, Harmony, held on 27, 28, 29 of
September this academic session was the most significant enterprise
organized by the College Students’ Union Society within a tight
schedule of 15 days. It was sponsored by ONGC, The Week, a magazine;
HAL; StudyPlaces.com; J&J buying services; Instituto Hispanio, a
Spanish Language teaching institute; and Spykar. There were a total
of 29 events organized.
Harmony began with the inauguration
ceremony in which a speech was given by the Principal, Rev. Valson
Thampu and the lamp was lit by the Principal, a teacher and Adnan N.
Asmi, the President of the SUS.
After the Inaugural Function
concluded, the first event, “Through the Looking Glass” took place
in which photographs of the most significant and joyful moments of
Stephanians’ were displayed in a slide slow.
This was followed by Silhouettes, a fashion show organized
for the first time in St. Stephen’s. The designer in charge was Ms.
Swati from NIFT. Next, were a number of excellent performances by
the choreographic society during the Choreography Show
followed by several other events.
The exciting events of the first day
concluded with Do-Re-Mi, during which a number of Stephanians sang
on stage and Junior Members danced to their hearts content.
DAY 2
The second day began
with the Sports Fiesta. A number of matches such as football
match, cricket match, etc. were held.
Of the several
events held on the second day, 47 Seconds To Fame
was the most popular. Some
participants danced, some played the
guitar, one wrote a poem but the winner was Gulzar, the
flame-thrower (!).
The Fancy-Dressing Competition followed where participants
were given newspapers and streamers to dress their fellow contestant
in the most imaginative and innovative manner, with the given
material.
The day concluded with the DJ Night.
DAY 3
After numerous events in the morning and
afternoon, the grand finale for the festival was the Rock and Fusion
Night for which Parikrama, Starry Eyed and Clueless and the College
Bands performed several numbers.
Harmony concluded with an amazing, breath
taking, continuous fire-works display. |
